McKenna turned 3 years old on January 3rd this year. So you know what that means! It was her GOLDEN birthday! (Golden birthday is when you turn the same age as your birthdate.)
We celebrated McKenna's Golden party while we were still in the Dallas area for Christmas Break. It was a much smaller party with just the family and close friends that lived right there in the area.
The party was at Pappy's Gym (Bob's dad) and it was perfect!
I printed the invites from etsy and loved how they turned out.
Golden family shirts. I used my silhouette to make the wording and cut it out on gold vinyl. Then heat pressed them on the shirts.

Lots and lots of gold.
McKenna helped me cover our cardboard CELEBRATE letters in gold glitter and I love how they sparkled and shined.
The kids (big and little) had so much fun running around the gym!
Is anyone dying to know where my fabulous (or not so fabulous) gold jacket is from? Goodwill! Who would ever give up such a gem?!
We wanted everyone to GO FOR THE GOLD so we played some Golden Games.
I bought some paper mache eggs from Hobby Lobby and painted them gold. We had the kids walk across the gym with a golden egg on a golden spoon. If it dropped, you had to start over. Avery was the winner!
McKenna couldn't even get five feet without hers dropping. One of the gym teachers had the best idea and taped her egg to the spoon and then told everyone to play one more time so she could win. Genius.
With a little help from Bob, she made it across the finish line first.
We then played Golden Cookie Monster. I gave each kid a golden oreo to place on their forehead. You had to get it into your mouth without using your hands.
It was pretty funny to watch.
Adalyn was the winner for this game.
We did a little hokey pokey
and parachute fun.
We then had an award ceremony where everyone won a gold medal. We had the Olympic's music playing as Bob presented everyone their medal. It was awesome!
Birthday girl's medal was the biggest and she was oh so proud of it!
For the party favors I filled some gold bags with a trophy, gold bar filled with rolos and some gold coins.
I got the gold bags from the Dollar Store, gold bows from Big Lots, trophies from Oriental Trading Company and I ordered the gold bar favor boxes from here.
Happy Birthday to the cutest 3 year old I know!
Thank you for making us the luckiest (and coolest obviously) parents! We love you so much McKenna!

I am laughing so hard at McKenna's face when Bob is helping her cross the finish line! PRECIOUS! how in the WORLD did you tie those perfect bows on your favor bags? I am just so excited to read about this awesome party. My girls bdays:9/15 & 5/20.... forever until their Golden Bday... I wonder if Masyn will play the Golden Games when she is too cool & 15? ;)

Such a great theme idea for a golden birthday! My daughters golden birthday will be her third birthday and I totally need to remember this (she's 1 1/2 now!) So cute!
I love everything about this party! My favorite pictures are of Bob and Kenna crossing the finish line and doing the hokey pokey, priceless! You never cease to amaze me with your party throwing skills :) Good job, Momma!
What an ADORABLE theme! I particularly love everyone's golden outfits (those shirts are just too cute), and the Liquid Gold beverage labels - I'm sure McKenna will always cherish these party photos and memories!
