Happy New Year!

Texas-London Style!
We celebrated New Year's Eve a little different in our house this year and it was so much fun! Bob had to work New Year's Day so I knew he wouldn't be able to ring in the New Year at midnight. Then the tummy bug visited our house so I figured we probably shouldn't invite people in our house and share it. I was thinking we just wouldn't do anything for New Year's Eve and I was fine with it. Until I had the thought of celebrating a little early in a different time zone! I was so excited and immediately thought Hawaiian Style New Year's Eve. I was thinking grass skirts, tiki torches, Hawaiian chicken, the whole 9 yards. I even googled the time difference and was certain in my crazy head that 8pm our time would be midnight in Hawaii. Good thing I ran the idea by my smarty pants hubby and he informed me that my time zones were a little off. I'm not always the sharpest knife in the drawer. He suggested I go with Texas-London Style. So I told Ella no more grass skirts, now it was fancy dresses and pearls. Luckily she was just as excited (probably even more) about the costume change.
Yesterday morning McKenna and I started making some decorations. She finger painted master pieces as I made some flags.

I love when Bob jumps on board full throttle. I had the flags just hung on the wall and he busted out THE backdrop! Love him.

We snacked on some Fish & Chips as we counted down the New Year.

Hahahaha when I first read this, I was like Bob is crazy! Hawaii is 4 hours behind, so Allison's right! Then Shea told me I was thinking about it backwards. :( Next year you should have a Hawaiian party at 4am!

This is just about the cutest thing I've ever seen, but most of the cutest things I've ever seen are on your blog! I've been reading for a while, and I'm constantly inspired by you! I'm having my first child in a few weeks, and I really want to be a mom like you - creative and playful and loving! Just wanted to say I admire you!
