Hall's Pumpkin Patch

IMG_3987
We met the Harrisons at Hall's pumpkin patch a few weekends ago and it was a blast.

And the corn maze was no joke.  We felt truly victorious when we made it through (after asking for someone to literally lead us out.  Either way, victory is victory if you're lost and afraid you may run out of diet coke and become too dehydrated and its getting dark.  It was touch and go.)

They had a hay ride and we fed the animals and the kids ate it up.
We went to their house afterwards and shea and aves could not get enough of that gorgeous baby dylan.  I dont think shea ever left him alone.  She was all ahhhh and ohhhh and so many kisses the kid was wet with drool.  I love her passionate spirit.  We may just have to tame it.  She is definitely a lover.
avery and shea
On the way home, shea was crying and avery is usually the one who sits next to her and consoles her. She does an incredible job.  She plays with her and sings to her and gives her everything she wants.  She is always patient and always so sweet.
But on the way home, shea would not give it up.  When I looked back I saw Aves with huge tears just streaming down her cheeks.  She was so upset that she couldn't make shea happy and it just broke my heart.  I am so thankful for siblings and for ones that never hurt or pain to come on each other.  It isn't always rainbows and no fights, but I always want to remember how heart wrenching it was watching her care for shea that night.
So thankful for sisters- mine that didnt live in my house but came in the form of friends and my kids who hopefully will support and encourage each other their entire lives.  And share clothes.  Isn't that the best part of sisters??!

Barbie's Moving Tour

Ella loves Barbie dolls. I already need to make her Barbie organizer bigger. She spends hours changing their clothes and fixing their hair. I love just watching her and seeing all the creative things she does with them.
Last week my blog friend Misty shared a website with me that she thought my girls would love. I had never heard of it and was so glad she told me about it! Barbieismoving.com So Barbie is on a road trip across North America trying to find her new dream home. She visits 13 different cities and Dallas just so happened to be one. The girls and I were already at my parents house last week so we decided to go see what Barbie's moving tour was all about.
IMG_0066
It was cute and the girls had fun. Ella was hoping that Barbie herself would be there but it was just a lot of cardboard Barbies.
IMG_0072IMG_0071IMG_0069
We stood in line longer than the actual tour but the girls didn't seem to mind. They got to dress up in tutus, boas, and sunglasses before walking the Barbie runway.

After the runway you got to design your own Barbie dress.

We ended the tour with a little face painting.

Before heading back home we got to eat lunch with Lindsay, Kinley and Ty. It was so fun seeing them! McKenna and Ty just giggled and smiled together while Ella and Kinley sang and danced to Taylor Swift. So fun!

lil' flappers

since we had just had a 20's theme party, we decided to keep the theme going and get the kids some flapper/gangster attire for halloween too.  we had ours on hand just in case we all wanted to dress up...that did not happen this year, unlike last, but it was just as much fun.
we met at aly and matt's and aly had done some great set up with pumpkins and "boo yall" napkins and cups.  allison made the spiders rice krispies.

we decided to use their awesome neighborhood as our trick or treating terrain.  it was a good plan.

we took wagons and strollers and walked to adalyn's fall festival at her school.  i mean, we had to have a little work out to work off our candified calories, right?
Picnik collage
then we took it to the streets for some real trick or treating.

annual pumpkin patch

The last two years Kristen and I have taken all the kids to the pumpkin patch for some pictures. We didn't get to go back to the original pumpkin patch in Lubbock this year but we did get the kids together for the annual pumpkin patch pics! We were both in the Dallas area yesterday so we took the kids to the Dallas Arboretum with Lindsay and Aly. It was so fun and this place had pumpkins everywhere! We had 8 kids between all of us and of course had them all in matching dresses. Ben coordinated with the girls in stripes:)

We attempted to get a group pic all day, but you know how that goes...

Face painting was a hit! (with everyone but Kinley and Leighton) Everyone got matching butterflies and we were all cracking up at how into it they all got. It was so cute!

a night at the girl's room

So Lindsay's birthday was yesterday and Kristen and I came in town to take her out for dinner...or thats what she thought:) We had quite the surprise in store for Lindsay and she had no idea, it was such a fun night.
We took her to eat at this fabulous restaurant in Dallas called Horne & Dekker. (thanks for the recommendation Morgan) She thought it was just going to be the 3 of us but she walked into a table with 12 of her closest friends. She was so surprised. Little did she know that the surprise didn't end there...

A few weeks ago Kristen and I started talking about doing something for Lindsay's birthday. We wanted to do something that was different and something we hadn't done before. With help from our friend Blair we came up with the perfect birthday surprise for Lindsay. We went pole dancing! haha! We went to this place in Dallas called The Girls Room for a private class on pole dancing. The Girls Room is a dance and fitness studio created for women. It offers lots of classes like belly dancing, zumba and pole dancing is the newest workout crave so we thought it would be fun to try:) And you know we couldn't have a party without matching shirts. We dyed the shirts pink and put a pole dancer silhouette on the front with Lindsay's birthday date under it. On the back we did another silhouette and under it we put the motto for the girls room.

We also screen printed tote bags and put the shirts inside along with some pole dancing punch for everyone. It turned out to be the perfect little party favor.

It was just the best night! Full of laughs and so many wonderful moments we will all never forget. We all woke up so sore this morning. Turns out it really is a great workout:)

Happy Birthday Linds!

IMG_1119
Today is our bestest friend lindsay's 28th birthday.
Lindsay is the kinda friend who will be there for you always. Loyal to you- no matter what. never says anything negative about anyone because if she is your friend, she is on your side. she has been through everything with us (elementary and middle school for me, high school with both of us, college, marriage and motherhood to name a few) and we are so thankful for her constant support, encouraging spirit and always 'together' attitude that can get you through any crisis.
she is always up for anything. so much fun. always ready for a spontaneous trip, fun, new experience and time with friends and family.
she is the most amazing mom to kinley and wife to ben. she always encourages us with her attention to details that they all love and her desire to make them happy. goes all out for birthdays, makes amazing presents for her kinley and friends, and just takes the time to pay attention to others.
she never, ever complains. she is busy all the time, has a husband that works and goes to school and she is always thankful for what they have and the experiences that they are going through.
love you so much linds, and so thankful that we both get to be in town together to take you to dinner on your birthday!!

10 year reunion

We had our 10 year high school reunion this weekend and it was SO much fun! I can't believe it has really been 10 years!
Picnik collage
Sometimes it feels like just yesterday... I was doing a kick line on the drill team, Lindsay was singing in the choir and cheering, and Kristen was running cross country and playing soccer. Now look at us today, 10 years later. All grown up as moms with our martini glasses:) It's been a good 10 years.

What a fun weekend. We had a blast catching up with old friends and we can't wait for the next reunion!

happy easter

Lindsay, Kristen and me combined our love for elastic waist skirts and matching on this Easter Sunday. We all made some elastic waist skirts with different colored searcuckered fabric and wore them to church today.

We are still in Colleyville so we went to the same church as Lindsay this morning. We know it's kinda dorky to match but we just can't help it:) We just love it!

I used yellow searcucker for me and Ella's skirt and I made coordinating hair clips to match. Kristen and Lindsay used blue searcuckered for their skirts. Next year Kristen will have to teach us how to make a tie so the hubbies will match too. Pics of Kristen's fam will be coming soon.
