Hilltop Camps 2017

Easily one of my favorite weekends of the year!
We went to the Petroleum Club in Tyler and stayed at a cabin there and it was perfect.
Kind of cold, but we paddle boarded anyway and went to the Grove and told stories around the fire and played with the dogs.

I cant wait to do it again this summer!

Shea will take a bath wherever she can get it.  Sink, tub, shower- she loves it all.

This dress was Avery's and then Sawyer and now its Shea's.

When you cant reach your back to put an entire sheet of tattoos on yourself, you ask your sister and she will do it for you. I love these twins.

Jan left sass some flowers to put around our house when she left for colorado and they were so gorgoues! Sass knows more than I do, so she taught me how to trim the leaves off the flowers and arrange them in a bowl.

Sarah and Paul came to Texas and I got to watch the kids for an afternoon and the kids were pretty much in heaven.

Aly called me the other day and just wanted to make sure that we were not having a sleepover that night because avery had sent an invite to adalyn that said she was invited to a sleep over.  I love that kid.  I had to go back and tell her that she needs to clear that kind of stuff with me next time but I do love that party spirit :)

I also got to be in the room when Linds welcomed sweet baby Dylan Lee Harrison into the world.  It was just the most incredible thing I have ever experienced and just so so happy for the harrison family!!
IMG_3827
Ben had his first flag football game on sat and he walked around a little bit not really on it... but he loved it so well see how it goes!

And saturday night we got to go to one of our dear friends from med schools wedding and got the gang back together.  It was SO MUCH fun.  We partied the night away and loved every single second of seeing everyone! Congrats Marianne and Mark!
Kind of a jumble, but, you know, everyday is a party.  Well, not everyday.  But the days with a wedding and fun reception are definitely a party.  So, I guess moral of the story is, may everyday be a wedding day?  Too much.  I get it.  But maybe finding some of those huge pink glasses may at least help.

Happy Birthday Brooke!

happy-birthday-brooke
Yesterday was Brooke's 30th bday, so Julie and I got a little excited and drove down there with some party stuff.  Julie made the most amazing paleo cake (because brooke eats paleo a lot of the time and just finished a cross fit paleo challenge).  Not only was it so good, but it was so pretty!

I made 30 water bottles that we both put together things we love about brooke and then put it on the water bottle labels.  (Allison have done this before with aly when she was doing cross fit) This way, she has 30 days of reminders of how incredible she is.  And she is incredible. Brooke is one of the hardest working people we have ever met and one of the most encouraging.  She is never without a smile and truly always making everyone around her feel amazing about themselves.  She has blessed my life more than I can tell y'all and I am so thankful to still be close and know her the way I do. Our friend Mandi also stopped by and it was pretty much the most fun day reliving my old life (minus kids).  I also made some shirts with knitting needles on them (in case you were worried they were swords) and wrapped her gift in fabric.

It was a quick trip, but it just helped remind me of the incredible people in my life and how blessed I am to have known them so well for so long and still get to stay close to them.
Brooke- I hope you have the best day.  We all love you so much and are so thankful to have you in our lives!

BYOP

This last Friday was early dismissal for Ella's school so I thought it would be fun to have all the girls in her class over for pizza and pumpkin decorating! BYOP. (bring your own pumpkin) It was a house full but so much fun!
I had ordered a bunch of different pumpkin sticker faces from oriental trading company.

The girls loved it! They all covered their pumpkins with multiple faces and then topped it off with some jewels of course. I bought some of the glue dots from Hobby Lobby and they held the jewels on perfectly.

After pumpkins we made some tissue paper mason jars too. Or whatever you call them. We did them last year with pumpkin faces and when you put a candle inside they glow. Kinda like a lantern. Maybe thats what they are called, mason jar lanterns. Most of the girls went with a pink polka dot tissue.

This was my first "drop-off" playdate so I was a little nervous but it ended up going great! Maybe I'll be ready to host a sleepover next...

Memorial Day

First off, just want to say a very late thank you to all of the men and women who have served this country.  We are so thankful for the chance to honor and remember them on memorial day.
And secondly, this is the latest post in the world.  It has been crazy over here.  whew.  So we are going to go back in the iphoto archives to bring you this exciting post.  (not really exciting, but I just want it documented so I dont forget).
We all went to my in laws lakehouse for the weekend and jeff's sister and family got to come down from colorado to join us.  It was just so much fun and we loved every minute with them.

We fished, swam, tubed, cooked, napped, ran, and lived it up on the water. Such a fun weekend.

On sat night, my parents had tickets to the taylor swift concert that they graciously shared with avery and her friends (and mine!) and we sang our hearts out at the Red tour.  Loved our lives.  Those five- seven year old girls could not contain their excitement and we have since listened to nothing besides tswift.

Overall, it was just amazing weekend.
I will see if I can get something current up here soon...

Cotton Bowl

If you are my friend on facebook or instagram then these photos might make you fall asleep because you have seen them so many times (sorry!), but I wanted to put them over here for, you know, documentation.
We went to the cottonbowl this weekend thanks to tickets from my amazing parents.  It was so much fun watching Johnny Football and seeing the aggies win!

Christmas recap

I can't believe Christmas has already come and gone. It always goes by too fast.
I love thinking back on how much fun everything was. Probably not as fun for y'all to read about but I just like to write it down here so I will always remember. This is a lot of Christmas happenings that I never got around to blogging this month so get ready for a lot of randomness.

We had fun painting ornaments with friends,
IMG_6927IMG_6925
wearing some Christmas pjs to school,
IMG_6340
and passing out Christmas gifts.

I copied my friend Suni on the teacher gift idea which originally came from the fabulous Our Best Bites. Socks, nail polish and a starbucks gift card. The printable is free from their website.

Ella had a school Christmas program and watching her sing songs on stage made me smile so big my eyes water.  McKenna's class wasn't in the program but I can't wait to see what she does next year!

We had fun decorating cookies with friends,

We drove through this really cool Nature in Lights and the girls loved it! It was five and a half miles of lights. In the middle of all the lights was a Santa's Village where you could get out and go in if you wanted. It was mostly little booths of people selling crafts but in the middle of the room was two open mics. Anyone could sing on them and my girls weren't shy.

We had our Christmas on the 19th this year because of Bob's crazy schedule and us traveling. We made sure to write Santa a letter to let him know and Fancy our elf helped tell him too:)
Bob read The Christmas Story the night before and we left Santa some milk and Smore bar.
IMG_6445IMG_6447
The girls were thrilled to see what Santa left them! Dignan didn't seem to be bothered by a jolly old man coming down the chimney.

The next day we headed to Bob's parents house for lots of Christmas celebrations. Booth family game night is always a favorite of mine and Bob and I won this year! This was the few days before my sister was getting engaged so we set up the photo back drop for a practice round with everyone. I ended up adding more dots before the engagement party so the practice round was very useful and made for some fantastic pictures!

Christmas with all the cousins was a whirlwind of paper flying and kids squealing with excitement. We even tried to go one at a time but it was still a blur.

Dawn and Billy got all the girls roller blades and McKenna a scooter. Within a matter of minutes we had our own roller derby team lined up and ready.

Next we headed to my parents house for more Christmas. We went to see Mamaw and then went to a candle light church service.

Christmas Eve night was full of lots of stripes and laughs. Two of my most favorite things is stripes and matching so you can imagine my excitement for our Christmas pjs this year! (pjs are from here)

We always open one gift on Christmas Eve and this years gift was so fun! It was the hand held phone that you can hook up to your iPhone. As we opened them my mom made sure to tell us that they help save brain cells:)
As you can see, Bob is already gaining brain cells.

Christmas morning went by way too fast. The weather started to get bad so we had to pack up right after we opened gifts to head back home. It ended up snowing and we were so sad that we missed the white Christmas.
DSC_1516DSC_1504
We had so much stuff to bring back home. My mom and I had already decided she would just drive down sometime next week with another load. One of my husbands many talents is packing a car. It's kind of unreal. He is like a tetris genius and somehow he made everything fit. We couldn't believe it.
