Today is a big day guys!
Kristen is turning 30 years old and I wish her the best of all birthdays yet!
Kristen really is the best friend you can possibly ever ask for. She is the most loyal, kind hearted, compassionate, patient, and fun loving person I know. The second you meet Kristen you can't help but fall in love with her and she will instantly make you laugh with her random and funny comments that come out from nervousness. I call her for anything and everything and my day feels weird if I haven't talked to her on the phone for more than 3 times that day. Without even trying she will always make you feel extra special and brighten your day. She is a true joy to be around and I can't even begin to explain how much she means to me or where I would be with out her. She has taught me so much.
Here is a 30 for 30 list of things I have learned from Kristen…
1. how to not let a little mess get in the way of having fun
2. how to have an impromptu dance party
3. that an event isn't really an event without matching shirts
4. how to communicate better
5. how to white wash a fire place
6. how to manage multiple kids
7. the front braid
8. good tv shows (modern family, project runway, the new girl)
9. showing kindness to everyone around you
10. how to make a meal out of random things in your fridge
11. that mocha splash really can last longer than 48 hours and still looks fantastic a whole year later!
12. that it's ok to wear something one day, sleep in it and wear it again the next day. (I'm actually not sure who taught who this, but we are both really good at it)
13. that jalapenos or soy sauce can spice up any meal
14. how to make the best tortilla soup and chocolate chip cookies
15. to enjoy the moment
16. the true greatness of pistachios
17. generosity
18. finding the joy in simplicity
19. all the cool things like pinterest, twitter, instagram
20. how to be a good mom and wife during med school and residency
21. how to live (survive) in lubbock texas during the first years of med school with a newborn
22. the closeness of family
23. to never give up
I love you so much Kristen and I can't wait to celebrate with you soon!!! Happy happy birthday!!!
