happy easter

Lindsay, Kristen and me combined our love for elastic waist skirts and matching on this Easter Sunday. We all made some elastic waist skirts with different colored searcuckered fabric and wore them to church today.

We are still in Colleyville so we went to the same church as Lindsay this morning. We know it's kinda dorky to match but we just can't help it:) We just love it!

I used yellow searcucker for me and Ella's skirt and I made coordinating hair clips to match. Kristen and Lindsay used blue searcuckered for their skirts. Next year Kristen will have to teach us how to make a tie so the hubbies will match too. Pics of Kristen's fam will be coming soon.

abc blocks

since it kinley's birthday party is today and her theme is abc's i decided to make her some abc blocks.

and ashley had a shower last weekend and i made her some for her little boy that is due so soon!

then jeff helped me by staining these boxes i bought at hobby lobby and i used those to store the blocks.

super fun.

russian dolls

Today is Kinley's first birthday party and we are so excited! I painted a set of Russian dolls for Kinleys birthday present and they turned out way better than I thought.

I ordered a set of 5 plain Russian dolls from Amazon and painted each one a different base color first then started with the faces. I put a gloss finish on them when I was done.

I then made them look like Avery, Ella, Ben, Sawyer and Kinley. I added a little something on each one to symbolize each kid. The theme for Kinley's birthday party was "ABC's" and "K is for Kinley." So to tie in the theme I painted the letter and name on the back of each doll.

Avery loves to dress up in princess dresses and jewelry. Ella loves a good ponytail and can't go anywhere these days without a purse.

Ben always has the biggest smile on his face and loves to read books. Sawyer has a love for shoes and always looks so cute in her little hair clips that Kristen makes her.

And then there is the birthday girl Kinley with her big beautiful blue eyes! She is holding a cupcake with one candle to show how old she is turning.

I hope Kinley has a wonderful birthday and enjoys playing with her new Russian dolls. Happy 1st Birthday Kinely, we love you!

we hit it

this week we had our first costum order.

james, my friend since high school asked me to make his softball shirts with a design that he created. their team name is "i'd hit it" (like maybe, "id hit it if i wasnt 28 years old and outta shape"...well, thats what mine would say!!) and james totally made up the logo. i was nervous at first. i have never done anything so complex. but it was really so easy and was so fun!!

beware, james. they are kinda ghetto. not all shirts are created equal...

their first game is on tues and i know yall are gonna win with shirts like these!

now they are off to the post office to be sent to the big apple. good luck guys! thanks for letting us make your shirts!!

happy birthday anna!

Guess who turns the big 19 today?!

My little sister Anna!

Anna and me are 10 years apart in age and that has made our bond even more special. I will never forget the day I became a big sister, it was a day of many answered prayers and one of my happiest times. Anna is the best little sister and such a wonderful Aunt to Ella. She is BEAUTIFUL on the inside and out and always puts a smile on my face. Anna is way cooler than me. I want to copy her a lot and sometimes try to be just like her. She has the best style, can do the cutest things with her hair, looks drop dead gorgeous as a blonde or brunette and knows how to put on makeup like a movie star. Anna is so easy going about things and I always love being around her. She can be the life of the party but also the girl that watches a cheesy 80's movie with you in a pair of sweats while finishing off a bag of Nacho Cheese Doritos. She is one of those girls that just makes your life better. I am so incredibly blessed to have her as my sister and best friend.
