Fourth of July 2017

We are trying to say, with our shirts, that we want America to be big enough again.  Big enough to house everyone who needs her.  No wall, no ban, no discrimination.
(Also giving Kathy full responsibility of this tee idea).
And it was a great 4th.
 As always.
Linds brought lipscense and rainbow looms, al brought beads and we did make up and made accessories and were all flared up by the end of the weekend.
 More is more.
Blurry, but love singing God Bless the USA with mom and watching the fireworks.

We had a little truth or dare after the fireworks that the parents bailed on but was fantastic.
Ben and Ty never stopped fishing.

And sometimes they were joined by the girls.
Then we set off for the square.
And were heartbroken when there was no one there but like 5 booths because of a huge storm the night before.  We were devastated.
But pressed on.
And played Dutch Blitz at every table in the house.
 Reapplied our lips,
And tubed.
Until next year, best holiday ever.

The latest

Summer.
I mean!
This thing is crazy.
It just blows in with all the heat it can muster and steals time minute by minute.
We are fully taking advantage of it and doing what all the cool kids are doing.
(ok.  I don't know what the cool kids are doing, but I am pretty sure its not making homemade friendship bracelets and giving away vests with patches.  but I could be wrong.)
Here is the latest in no particular order of any kind.
insta-collage

1. patriotic friendship bracelets dating back to the fourth o' july  2. the actual fourth swimming at brooks  3. milk bubbles  4.  islas first sleepover!!  5.  lunch in lubbock.  four kinds of fries with two dipping sauces.  unbelievable!  6.  al and cel  7.  more friendship bracelets.  the gap totally stole my idea  8.  al and I getting ready for our lubbock flight and the coffee that gave her vertigo.  luckily christial wasn't there so i could steal her coffee  9.  charm bracelets that ended up looking like dream catchers.  10.  bingo daubers  11.  bingo mat  12.  sawyer practicing tracing her name over my letters  13.  new short hair!  14.  outdoor spa treatment.  15.  ta da!

4th of July (6-8) 2012

So, as was expected, the 4th went down with the usual halbert flair and it was a total blast, just like every year before.
It was really just so so much fun.
There was some crazy face/body paint, DJ's who had to DJ inside bc of torrential rain, a little insanity in the morning, a little bull riding, some boating, tubing, tons and tons of swimming, a little cranberry vodka and a lot of fun.
(Sorry for the massive photo dump that is about to happen on your computer)

We took some of the kids on the boat and it was definitely more fun for some than others.

Sassy, Ella and Aves went together and really laughed the whole time.

Then, bob took ella and Kenna and they loved it too!!
Since we went to the lake the weekend after all the fireworks and celebrating, we had to come up with our own little "square".  I made friendship bracelets and al brought the shorts and some face paint.
And, I feel like it goes without saying that we enjoyed the face paint.
Allison, jeff and ben were true artists.
The girls wanted the full face butterflies.  Allison didn't even show an ounce of fear and jumped right in.

I really don't think I have seen 4 prettier butterflies.

Jeff did our flags and they were so realistic! Flowing in the wind and everything.
Then sawyer asked jeff for gracie on her chest.

And he did it so well!!! It looks just like her!
Who doesn't want a painting of their dog on their chest???
Ben drew a few more things on the kids and they loved every minute of it.

Its hard to say if she is in support of Chile or Texas, but either way she was proud.

Then jeff and ben went rouge and did their own body art on each other.

There were 7 swimming, crawling, and running crazy kids between all of us.
Luckily, we had a lot of help.

and, even though it had to be inside due to weather where some kids were sleeping and some were dancing, it was a blast.
Everyone (that was brave enough) took their turn on the bull.
I really can't say if anyone made it the whole 8 seconds.
