tacky...but thoughtful

Avery's Birthday is tomorrow and Kristen is throwing her the most fabulous heart themed birthday party. Pictures from the "Party Hearty" will be here soon.

Since I am really into my new sewing hobby I decided to make Avery a birthday present. She loves dressing up so I made her a dress up dress with all of her favorite fabrics. It isn't the cutest dress but there is a lot of thought behind it. It was harder than I had expected but was so fun to make. Hopefully Avery will love it!

A little Fancy Nancy, Hannah Montana, Dora, Tinker Bell, Ariel, and Cinderella.

And the dress had to have a heart on it to go with the theme of the party.

heart hair clips

after seeing MADE's super cute heart clips i decided that was a must for the party. they are so easy and so cute. i just hot glued clips in between two pieces of felt that i cut into hearts. and then sewed around the edges or in the middle...nothin' fancy. super easy.

on a totally unrelated note, ben got a little nervous to go down the slide today...he cracks me up!! poor kid. covered in mud and stuck at the top of the slide that he has gone down a million times. somebody needs a nap...

he will def be excited when he finds out he doesnt have to wear the heart clips.

heart and soles

so, blair is at it again!! she (of course) got her invitation, and went straight to our favorite shoe source and got the girls heart vans!! love them!! ben got old navy ones because boys dont really have any cute heart options...

i, of course, told everyone how great they are and then went straight to the vans website to buy matching ones for myself and they didnt have them!! i was so bummed. so al, behind the scenes, scoured the internet for the matching ones and she couldnt find them but she found these on ebay for 15 dollars...

how fabulous are these!! i am so excited!! party hearty or bust.

knitted circular scarf

i totally forgot about this scarf that i finished (that i am calling a gator cause thats what we use when we are skiing but i dont know what it is really called) a while ago so i thought i would post it. it is my first "knitting in the round" thing to finish and i love it. its a little bit big and so i have to safety pin it in the back to bunch it up a little...how do you fix it if its too big? and its a little big too wide and rolls up on itself...oh well. it was my first one. i cant wait to do more stuff in the round. i used the circular needles but i want to use double sided ones next time to see if i can figure those out.
