ode to nakedness

while going through my pics a while back, i started to realize that i was having to sort through so many where my kids were completely naked or only had one article of clothing on, ie. shirts, shorts, underwear (we will count diapers as close to naked because they are necessary at all times). even when we are taking nice family photos where i am trying to get all three of them in some sort of cute pose or in front of flowers i will completely neglect the fact that at least one of them is naked.

in saying all this i am just acknowledging what really everyone else already knows; my kids are always the emperors without clothes. except they dont mind. they just think nakedness is life. and i really have to agree. who doesn't just love a fat naked baby (and mine are def fat) and a cute naked toddler butt?

overall, i think we will try to clothe everyone as much and often as possible but as eating, diaper changing, dirt playing, chalking, coloring, becoming princesses and kings, and all the other stuff we are doing is happening, clothing will def keep coming off.

i think nakedness is next to Godliness. even more than cleanliness.

schooled.

so avery started school today! i was so sad. she cried throughout the morning on and off but when we got there she did great going in. super tough. she knew she had to be tough, though, because her mama used to fall for that crying-and-acting-sad-so-she-gets-so-sad-and-takes-you-right-home thing. she doesn't fall for it anymore. we are all getting tough.

we did have to go try to find the class on the playground when we got there because we were soooo late (nothing new. i prepped her teacher when we met and asked what they were doing at least an hour after school started so we would know where to go.) we thought her class was outside and when we tried to come back in after we found out they were NOT outside, we set off the fire alarm... not so bad on the first day except i def had two non-walking 22 pound babies on each arm throughout the class hunt...

so started out crazy, but turns out she has a friend she loves in her class that sits right beside her. she had a great day.

and so we got to go to the mall and play on the playground with ella and al afterwards and everyone was pretty excited.

aves wanted to hug it out with ella and ella did kinda give her the hand. she maybe wasn't quite as excited school was out.

family walk

We all went on a family walk last night. Here is a pic of just the kids, now add 4 adults, 2 dogs and a partridge in a pear tree!

happy birthday jo jo!

Today is my mom's birthday! I wish we were all together celebrating and eating birthday cake with her today. My mom is the kind of mom that always made birthday parties the talk around town. She would go all out for your special day and make it so much fun for everyone. I love that about her. My mom is the greatest and I am so blessed to have a mom that I also consider one of my best friends. She has set such a wonderful example for me to follow as I raise Ella. She is just the best mom and such a wonderful Jo Jo to Ella. I am so thankful for her. I hope you have a wonderful birthday mom, I love you very much!
