Crochet Chargers

For this mother's day I made my mom in law a few crochet chargers.  Nothing too exciting, but I like how they turned out.  I also made my grandmother in law (?) some pot holders. They were all nothing to write home about, but they will def be fun on a table.  And since I get on kick...

I should probably show yall this with a plate on them, but you get the idea.

I think she liked them.  I tried some with twine for a more natural look but I havent finished yet.  I will get back to you with those.  And maybe you could get real rope and do like a door rug?  what do you call those?  Entry way rugs?  Door mats.  Thats it.  Door mats.  gotcha.  Ok, Sorry.  Thanks for my brain fart. I clearly need a little more R&R squeezed into this sunday night...

Hi mom,

Happy mother's day to all the moms out there! I hope everyone is driving around by themselves or checking into individual hotel rooms and running nice long baths and letting your phone ring and ring while someone else takes on your motherly duties maxing and relaxing and enjoying today!
I did a few things this week that ill share later, but today I just wanted to tell you all happy mothers day (whether you are a mom to a child, dog, cat, friend, whatever)
I also wanted to acknowledge that I know that some of you wanted this mother's day to be something positive for you but this year (or every year) was full of disappointments and difficult times.  I know that Mother's day can either be a day of celebration or a memory of things you are reminded of all the time. I truly can not imagine that kind of pain and loss.  Happy day to you guys, too, and know that we are praying for you and thinking of you too.

Play Dough (again)

HAPPY CINCO DE MAYO!!! (more on that later)
So, after seeing this post and then this one, we decided it was time.  Time for playdough again.

stringy hair with pieces of stuff in it is a staple look over here.  I feel like we can say we own it.

Once I say the words that they can eat it, what do they do, try it. I just meant, it is possible to eat.

hmmm...

Super fun.  Love playdough- esp if its homemade.  (Well, I really prefer all other kinds of homemade dough like cookie, bread and things of that nature, but, the kids, they like play dough.)

man challenge 2011

  Jordan was on a mission to smoke the best brisket and that he did. He researched and watched many youtube videos on how to cook the perfect brisket. Friday night they prepped the brisket and he and Bob woke up at 6am Saturday morning to begin the 14 hour cooking process. Dedication for sure. 

It was well worth it! It really was the most tender brisket and even my picky eater Ella Reese loved it. Way to go boys!

Bob took a little brisket cooking break during the afternoon to take part in a little contest. The fantastic store Mountain Hideaway hosted a tent pitching contest on Saturday from 2-4. How fun is that?! Bob and Shea formed a tent pitching team and called themselves TEAM BOSHEA. The first thing that comes to my mind when I hear this is of course that I need to make matching t-shirts! Duh.

Carrie came up with (or saw on a shirt before) the fabulous wording for the back of the boys shirts. My screen printing supplies are already boxed away so I made these with my silhouette. I think they turned out great!

Each team had to pitch a tent and whoever did it in the fastest time won a tent. 

The time to beat was 45.3 seconds. TEAM BOSHEA did it in 45.9 seconds! SO close. 

It was so fun to watch and cheer them on. Maybe next year Molly and Ella can give it a shot.

7 years!

Happy Anniversary to the love of my life.

7 years ago today I married the most wonderful man. It's been the best years of my life and I look forward to many many more to come. I love you babe!
