We Stick Together Invites

Screen Shot 2013-05-08 at 2.25.55 PM
This year we are pretty low profile with the twins bday with moving and all.  They wanted suckers or popsicles and couldnt decide, so we just combined them.  Its kind of a party on a stick!  (I had so many fun ideas for the rhyme, but, you know... I tried to play down the stick references.  And everything that rhymes with stick...like lick, etc...  too many 'thats what she said' jokes in this party idea).
So, we will have kabobs and corndogs and popsicles and the twins are pumped.

And I just saw this fabulous DIY on Oh Happy Day after I made these.  She was pretty much reading my mind...

Mother's Day and Bike Party invites

IMG_2076
This year Jeff had the best mothers day planned for me.
He had the kids draw balloons and write "mothers day" on paper and then he scanned them, photoshopped them and ironed them on shirts for the kids for me!
Then they sprayed me with silly string and blew up tie dye balloons (to match the ones sassy drew)!  It was such a fun day and I am so thankful to be a mom to these crazies.
On Sunday we went to Jeffs parents first and then my parents to celebrate our moms.

We played in their fountain, hung out, took pics and then had a fantastic meal at Rosas.
Perfection.

We love you Nana and grandma so much!!
After that, we headed to my parents house and had a blast.
In the backyard there were mama ducks that had her babies that had hatched from eggs she layed at my parents house.
They were so sweet!

And incredibly fast!
They zoomed all over the pool trying to get away from my kids wanting to chase, catch and hold them.
Then the mama duck got out of the pool, and I guess that her babies can usually follow her, but for some reason they couldn't.
We traumatized them in every way just trying to help them get out of the pool.

We just wanted to help but I am sure we scarred them for life.

My mom did say that they came back the next day, so we luckily didn't do too much damage.

Love you mom! Thanks for a wonderful mothers day!
And we are going to do a bike party for the twins!
It is hard to do a party that they both agree on, but we do a lot of riding bikes, so I thought we could bring that to the streets in party form.

I will keep you posted on the rest of the decor...

Avery's Royal Partay Invites

Avery wants a princess party.  I know.  I feel like I have been trying to avoid this party for years. I want to make it a little cuter and have crown shirts and matching tutus, but she wants a typical princess party with princess dresses and all.  (I clearly have nothing against a princess party, I just think they can sometimes be so, whats the word? tacky.  or cheesy. and I am all for cheesy, I dont know...) So, I guess, it is her birthday.  I am ready for it.  I am going to try to keep it as calm as possible, but, who knows.  Hot pink and fuscia could creep in at any time.  My control over this party is really so limited.

I started off with these invites that Celeste and I created.  She found all of the cute fonts and I just love her wording.
Then I ran around everywhere looking for tubes to send them in so that they could roll up in the tubes.  I could not find tubes anywhere but, with aly's help, we found uline online and it was a dream come true.  Tubes everywhere. I even ordered some that came the next day!! (they happened to be the wrong size, whatever, but then I found the gold ones and I think they are perfect!)

I wanted to seal the invitations with wax and even found a wax stamp and some wax to do it, but I just could not get it to look good.  I also thought about the sticks that are on each end of scrolls, but I just couldnt figure out how to make that work.  Celeste found some cute wooden pieces at michaels, but I ended up just trying to get them out as fast as I could because I am so behind.  So, the moral here is if you do this, make the seal work and use the sticks.  It will be so much cuter.
Then I labeled them with "Princess Georgia" or "Prince Elliot" and sent them out.

And clearly I was not very good at wrapping the label with tape...

Noah's ark party invitations

after scouring the internet for an invitation for the twins party i decided to make them. i couldnt really find anything i loved. i was going to cut out the ark and i found these amazing elephant hole punches from martha that are amazing. but i dont think i can cut out that well...so i decided to use powerpoint.
i dont really love how they turned out, but since i am kinda a first timer with the invitations, i feel like they will be great.
nothing too exciting.

tiny invites

Ella's tiny two invites got mailed today!

They are nothing too exciting but they were cheap and easy to make.

I used microsoft word to make them. I put a short rhyme on the front and listed different meanings of tiny on the back.

I did the invitation in a tri fold so that it could fit in the tiny envelope. The tiny envelope then went into a regular sized one.
