Baby Hats and McKenna Shirts

I mean, you have got to be kidding me, right???!! I mean, have you ever seen a cuter baby, mom and family in your life?  I really can not get over it.  at all.  And we already miss her like crazy and are pretty obsessed with her.  Avery jacks my phone, calls allison and begs to ichat with her like every hour.  It is getting out of hand.
Since she was coming and I knew we had to have something pink to wear, I pulled out my new silhouette (love it!) and put together a little design, screen printed it and then added a little glitter to jazz it up...


(nevermind that the shirts are super wrinkled and kinda tie dye looking...oh how I miss my top loader...)

And, also, I have recently gotten into hats.

(and can we get over how amazing brittany is??!! her pics just blow me away every time I see them.  and i was there the whole day with her and she just looked like a normal person taking pics.  and then they look like this.  amazing.)

It all started over here when Ashley sent us this amazing package of these adorable hats, books and candy that she sent our family.  She is so amazing and we were blown away.  My kids were ecstatic about the hats and put them on immediately and never took them off (And slept in them).  They had the cutest labels on them and she even knitted me a bookmark.  It was gorgeous and so so thoughtful.

That made me want to try my hand at hats too.  So I made a few adult ones and a few baby ones...and, like usual, I kept going and made like 20...
Of course my first recipient had to be the newest, cutest girl we know,

They were really easy and I taught Linds in about five minutes on the way to see Allison and she, of course, did it, amazingly.

and I had to do a matching pair...

and a few more.
And I have a few in my shop...
And Jeff told me that there are a lot of places that take donated hats for newborns.  So, I thought maybe be the Tom's of baby hats and donate a baby hat for everyone that is bought.

I am still working on a few more boy ones, and getting the sizing down...
And I have only made a few adult ones, but, get ready folks, (as always) there are more to come.

McKenna Leigh!

Get ready for picture overload.

Everything went perfect with my c-section and the recovery has been great so far. I am still in the hospital but get to go home tomorrow! 

Ella loved watching me get ready for surgery and she enjoyed playing with her bag of surprises while she waited. 

As I was getting wheeled back to the surgery room I passed all the out of towners coming off the elevator. It was so wonderful to see them right before I went back. Ella was beside herself to see all of her favorite people at once. 

The c-section was fast and easy. It is so crazy to be laying on a table numb talking about everyday stuff with my sweet and wonderful Dr. Jennifer Owen and then all of a sudden she holds up McKenna for me to see. Everything was perfect with her! She weighed 7lbs and has a head full of black hair!

Bob rolled McKenna down to the waiting room to see everyone as I was wheeled back to the recovery room for 45 minutes. 

We are just loving life with our little family of 4 now!

McKenna Leigh is here!!!!

 She is just perfect.

my bags are packed, I'm ready to go...

I can't believe this day is really here! Baby McKenna will be here via c-section at 11am!!! It has been such a fun week getting ready for her. 

I took Ella to get her toes and nails painted pink and she is so excited to show them to McKenna.

My mom got in town last night and then everyone else is coming this morning. My mom brought cookies from Celebrity Bakery that say McKenna and Big Sis on them. She thought it would be fun to hand them out as people came up to the hospital to visit. I love it! 

My sweet friends helped me get them all wrapped up while Ella sampled one of each:)

So my bags are packed and I'm ready to go! My hospital bag of course has a set of matching pj's for McKenna and I and I packed a surprise big sister princess suitcase for Ella to have at the hospital. I filled it with things that will hopefully keep her busy as she waits for her little sister to arrive!

Happy New Year!

I hope everyone had a blast bringing in the New Year last night! We sure did over here at Casa Grande.

We celebrated with lots of fun friends. The girls spent much of the evening in the kitchen while the boys hung out around the fire.

This is one main reason I never left the kitchen. Jalapeno Popper dip.  I saw the recipe on ourbestbites and last night was the first time I had made it. I will make this dip again and again, it was amazing! 

We covered the island with butcher paper and had everyone write down their New Year's resolutions on it. As the night went on the resolutions got funnier and funnier...

Ella started the night off right with some Glee karaoke. 

One of my New Year's resolutions is to lose the 50+ lbs I have put on these last 9 months. (yes I am the pregnant girl who doesn't work out and eats everything in sight) Well...last night I discovered how I am going to get this losing weight thing going! It's called "Just Dance"on the Wii and it is oh so fabulous!
